i'm trying to join php smarty to jcow project.

i need your help & permissions to do it.is jcow license allow to change codes? is this with GNU?

Smarty is a great template engine. Actually Jcow was using smarty at early version.
But for better performance we use our simple template instead.

Jcow main files are not under GUN license, you can not change them. But most of Jcow applications are licensed under GPL. And Jcow opened it's application api. You are welcome to create Jcow applications that owned by yourself.

thanks paul, speed is needed. but apps and templates will not friendly with developers.

which one is better? speed or more developers .
