I really want to see how the software works but can't get it to install completely after 2 fresh attempts. It seems that not all default values are being written to the database. Sorry, I can't post the errors seen in the browser window because of URL restriction.

I am not sure about your situation. If you use PHP8 when you see your error, please try to install again on PHP7 or lower (PHP5). Before installing on PHP7/PHP5, you shoud delete all database that Jcow makes. I have experience that Jcow has some fetal errors on PHP8, but work fine on PHP7/PHP5. One of fetal errors on PHP8 is related to database function.

@shigeru Thank you for the info. I'm running PHP8 now and will look to see if I can roll only my test site back to PHP7 or lower.
