Is there a way to hide the invite link from the main menu?

I seem to have found a way to do this:;

I removed the following from line 216 of page.tpl.php
(located here /my/themes/default/page.tpl.php)

array('on'=>'invite','link'=>url('invite',t('Invite') ) ),

yes that works for 1.x
