1st off all wanna say sorry my english is not good.. okey here is my problem.. before this i setup my website with jcow and already have around 300+ member.. then some file missing so i install back with fresh jcow... my question is, can i put back the 300+ member on my new jcow database?
|
| |||
why not. do all backups and try.
|
| |||
why not? backup your old mysql data and replace to new mysql. and also old upload folder must to replace. Translate to malay kenapa tidak? you mesti bekap dulu data mysql yang lama. terus replace ke data mysql yang baru. jangan lupa upload folder juga di bekap dan replace.
|
| |||
will that disturd the current member? if i got 20 member from the new jcow.. it will use the old one only or it will mix with old and new?
|
| |||
already restore but seem that nothing happen

if you use cpanel on server. go to phpmyadmin => your network database => click export => export type = replace. go to new database=> click import. browse old database. i moved / migrate server more than 3 times.

migrating from one sever to another is one thing, mixing two databases is something different. I can be complicated. It depends how long database 2 (the 20 members) is online and how much data is in the tables that uses the users id from the accounts table.
|
| |||
owh thanks falcone.. but i really don
|
| |||
if there was much activity in database 2 it is complicated. And what did you do with the userfiles (avatars, photos, musicfiles) of the old members ?
|
| |||
when i install jcow at the 1st one, i got a several kind of problem. so i uninstall jcow on my server.. but before the problem come i already backup the database. so, i install the jcow from the beginning.. i think all the userfiles already deleted
|
| |||
so if there were userfiles in the old installation, you have links in the old database to non-existing userfiles, what makes it even more complicated.
