why can not ????

first you have to login on the frontpage, then you can go to the admin area

goto to the homepage, where you can log in or sign up. There you have to go to log in as admin. Like the at demo.jcow.net, left column. After you logged in as admin you will find a link to the admin area

this probably isn't the case, but if you installed with one of those "quick install" options from your hosting service, they might give you the option to name your admin account something other than "admin" - well, that doesn't work.. the admin account user name will default to "admin" no matter what you enter in the name field during setup..
