You mean how users can deactivate their account or how admin can deactivate Home > Admin Panel > Users
|

Yes I mean how users can deactivate their account..

Is that necessary? If an user want to leave, just delete all his friends and go.
|
| |||
Ok he/she can do that..

I don't know what the "future trouble" means. Since no one can view his profile or get connected with him any more.

yes if he she wants to leave and admin deletes his/her account all posts,comments,and messages will be deleted too. but it can be usefull option for use to deactivate his/her account except admin deletes it. Example: if user wishes to deactivate his/her account for some reasons and his/her account will be show as deactivated stats to his/her friends once they visit his/her profile. After sometimes he/she gets back to site and login with his/her previous username and password so the deactivated account gets active automatically once he/she login back. It can be a help full feature and extra option for user instead of creating new account and redoing everything.

write a note in the profile page to delete account contact admin, then if you get any requests you can let them know its permanent. This would also prevent any accidental deletions and people whining at you that you can't get the account back

The user-generated-content is important for most webmasters and should not be easily deleted/edited by users. I agree with eeji about the process of deleting. Webmasters should be careful of the user deleting, especially for those who have "huge amount of contents". i.e, if your account in Jcow community is deleted, all our posts in this thread will be deleted too, because this thread is started by you.
