I've downloaded the new version from sourceforge.net tried to install it
in xxxmoura.net (paul u know where) first

I noticed these things

1. no upgrading instructions!!!
2. even I I backed up my dbase and install fresh and restore my data the
   forum table makes problem note that I'm not using it at all so for the
   persons using it will be nightmare!!
3. I can not use my costumed welcome pages... I do not want visitors to
   see inside my community before they sign up or login!!!
4. where is chat enabler in the cpanel !!!! I was trying to use another
   chat system and disabled the build in one now I upgraded and want to use
   the build in to test but can not enable!!!!
5. the groups addon is not working ... it is my old addon from version 2.3 why??? I just made a copy from /applications to /moduels and kept the original there but no success!!! it is nor compatible???!!!!!!!

I've downloaded JCow 3 from Client Area and I've made a fresh installation.

For the moment...

1 - Chat does not exist.
2 - Add Video does not work. The system says: Invalid Youtube Video URL: xxxx... (but the url is correct) (*)
3 - My Account -> Notifications -> Turn off all notifications, press SAVE and does not work.
4 - Invitation system does not work. Try to send an invitation to a friend. No email arrives with an invitation to your friend.

This is just for the moment. Failures are common in newer versions. Patience.

I also say that there new and beautiful features. For example, the scroller effect of Community Activities, Invite, and advanced admin features. Congratulations!

I'm tested...

(*)One question: JCow required "allow_url_fopen" to ON in PHP.INI? I have a dedicated server and I have turned off this directive. This is my configuration:

register_globals = Off
allow_url_fopen = OFF
safe_mode = ON

These options must be ON / OFF for JCow? Thanks!

When you downloading Jcow v3 (07/19) we were still upgrading our site.
Here are the answers:

   • The package has been updated and an upgrades folder has been added.

2. even I I backed up my dbase and install fresh and restore my data the
   forum table makes problem note that I'm not using it at all so for the
   persons using it will be nightmare!!

   • please follow the steps in the upgrades folder.

3. I can not use my costumed welcome pages... I do not want visitors to
   see inside my community before they sign up or login!!!

   • The homepage content has been moved to "YOUR_THEME_FOLDER/page.tpl.php"

   • Just download the "chatbar" module and install it.

• I tested the video module again and it works. Could you PM the video URL? I will test it again.

• The settings you turned of were email notifications, which mean you will not notification emails. But you can still see the notifications on website.

• Have check the SPAM folder? some email clients automatically filter emails by some rules.

the groups Addon I'm using in my free version of jcow from old jcow 2.3 but, my for WL I will download it from client area so am I supposed to mix my 2 licences or keep ( honest )? or have to buy for my free version

Previous jcow features are not work in new 3.0 and new few features also not work. I am not understanding, what is new in version 3. Just new version have photo and custom profile work. Music, chat not work. There is no instructions.

I have asked Bruce on this issue, and he said, you are free to use the module for both sites. But you cannot use it for new site.

Add Video does not work

• Sorry I give a wrong answer to you. You need to make your server support the funtion "file_get_contents", which is needed by video module.
